In order to avoid duplicate records, the Black Stump website uses a membership system whereby frequent users of the site can register once and then access different parts of the site, requesting information and participating in discussions, online registrations and the like.
The reason we ask people to register is primarily to avoid duplication of information. By checking that users are registered, we avoid the common situation where people request the same information twice, or register more than once under slightly different names. It streamlines the data process and simplifies everything for both the organisers of Stump and the users of the website.
It also minimises fraudulent use of services such as discussion groups and allows users the ability to customise their web experience.
We do, however, reserve the right to keep you informed of Black Stump via E-Mail if you choose to join our mailing lists, and to send you brochures and news by snail mail if you request it or if you have been to a previous festival. This material may contain promotions for third party events and organisations. In these cases, we are reducing our costs through cross-promotional subsidies. We will never, however, give your details directly to any other organisation - we may only include their material within our own.
If you have any questions or complaints about our privacy policy or the storage of your personal information, please contact the webmaster via the e-mail address .
If you wish to completely opt out of data collection, you may contact us and we will happily delete all records concerning you from our BlackStump.Database. Under such circumstances, however, if you later register for the festival, subscribe for news, brochures, become a member of the website or interact in any way with the festival, new records will be created to manage your activities with us.
